About Me

Hi, I’m Brendon — a visual artist and educator based in San Francisco. I specialize in storytelling through comics, illustration, and animation, and I’ve spent the past seven years teaching art to youth across schools, nonprofits, and independent programs.

Through my teaching practice and my small business, Metcalf.Academy, I create hands-on learning experiences that empower students to express themselves, develop technical skills, and build creative confidence.

Outside the classroom, I work on murals, children’s books, and personal art projects that blend bold shapes, expressive linework, and a love for narrative. Whether I’m mentoring young artists or working late in the studio, my goal is always the same: to make something meaningful — and help others do the same.
